To change the hostname; we have to start by modifying two files. [proxmox] enabled = true port = https,http,8006 filter = proxmox logpath = /var/log/daemon.log. Does it split up streams per VM/lun) If not, what should I change? I'd like to have my proxmox hosts talk on VLAN 10, so that I can isolate them from the rest of the network. How do I need to change my settings to that it gets tagged? I can't seem to be able to do it in the GUI. I'm not very experienced with this stuff. I haven't used VLANs or bonding before, so this is all a bit new to me. I have 3 machines running proxmox. I want to use one machine for hosting files, VM images and some smaller containers. The two other machines are used to host games and other VMs. I'd like to use the VM images on the storage machine on the other machines over the network by using iSCSI. My network config is almost equal for all 3 machines: 1 or 2 ports on the motherboard and a 4 port add-on card. I'm trying to get most of this done in the GUI, as that is much easier I find it easier to correct errors that way. Here's my config as it is right now: # network interface settings; autogenerated # Please do NOT modify this file directly, unless you know what # you're doing. # # If you want to manage part of the network configuration manually, # please utilize the 'source' or 'source-directory' directives to do # so. # PVE will preserve these directives, but will NOT its network # configuration from sourced files, so do not attempt to move any of # the PVE managed interfaces into external files! Where is eth0? ![]() You're not defining it before you connect it to OVS. It's been defined like this by proxmox. I haven't edited the interfaces file manually yet. (and I would like to avoid it if possible) I do get untagged traffic over the bond, so?I think the basic setup is working. I'm trying to set up the VLANs now using intports. Are you running a Linux bond into an OVS bridge? When I did LACP it was defined entirely in OVS without using any Linux bond underneath. I'm using a linux bond for vmbr0 and a OVS bridge tied to eth0 for vmbr1 If you are worried about balancing traffic you could try a layer 2+3 hash policy I'm using a unifi US-24. Afaik it only supports layer 2 bonding. (I could be wrong?) Is there some kind of tool I can use to check if the bond will distribute traffic? You should be able to view status with a command like ovs-ofctl show vmbr1 If you insist on using a Linux bond under OVS you could check it with cat /proc/net/bonding/bond0 The OVS bridge is not using the bond. I want the bond to do backhaul traffic to the storage machine, and little else. That's why I kept it separate from vmbr1, which I intend to use with the VMs.
